How do I find loops at my song's tempo in Veena?

Say the tempo and key in your request, for example: a funky guitar loop around 100 BPM in E minor. Once a loop is on Veena's timeline, open its Waveform tab and use Match BPM to fit it to the project, or drag the clip's right edge to stretch it without changing its pitch.

Can I use my own samples in Veena?

Yes. Drag audio files onto the timeline or click Upload; Veena imports 13 audio formats, including WAV, MP3, FLAC and AIFF, and keeps them in the Uploaded section of the Library. For one-shots you want to play from a keyboard, load them onto the 16 pads of the MPC Sampler.

Is sample search in Veena free?

Yes. Searching is part of asking CoProducer, which uses your daily CoProducer allowance on Veena's free plan, and picking a card or pressing Skip doesn't count as a new request. Veena Pro, $20 a month, removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models.

Describe it the way you'd describe it to a producer next to you: what it is, how it should feel, and the tempo or key if it's a loop.

Sample search in Veena, step by step

Open Ask CoProducer in the dock and type your request.
Browse the 10 cards. Each card shows the sample's waveform and length. Hover a card to hear it, or move through the list with ↑ and ↓ and each card plays as you land on it.
Add it. Press Enter or click a card. The sample drops onto your timeline as an audio clip and is saved to your project.
Want other choices? Press More Options for a fresh round, or Skip to move on without adding anything.
Fit it to the song. Select the clip and open its Waveform tab: Match BPM fits a loop to your tempo, Pitch Shift moves it up or down, and Find Key tells you what key it's in. You can also drag the clip's right edge to stretch it in time without changing its pitch.
Place it across the song. Copy it with Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, or ask CoProducer to "spread this loop across bars 9 to 24"; loops placed across a span line up on bar lines.

Changed your mind? Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) removes the clip in one step.

CoProducer searches for more than drums: one-shots, loops, textures, sound effects, transitions, vocal chops and ambience. When it builds a whole beat, it can reach for a sample on its own when an audio element suits the song better than a MIDI part.

Your own samples

Import: drag files onto the timeline or click Upload in the transport bar. WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS, FLAC, AIFF and CAF all work, and each file uploads to your cloud storage straight away.
Reuse: open Library in the left sidebar to find everything you've uploaded; hover to preview and click to add it to the project.
Play one-shots: create a MIDI clip, choose MPC Sampler and drag samples onto its 16 pads, each with gain, pan and pitch. More in beats and drums.

Tips for faster searches

Name the type. "One-shot" and "loop" narrow the results more than any adjective.
Give the tempo and key for loops. It saves a Match BPM later.
Ask for the placement too. "A riser that ends on the downbeat of bar 17" gets the sound and puts it where it belongs.
