How mastering in Veena works, step by step
- Finish the mix first. Mastering polishes a balanced mix; it can't rescue a vocal that's buried. Keep the master meter in the Mixer out of the red. See mixing in Veena.
- Hear the whole song. Double-click the ruler to switch looping off, so nothing you judge is a 4-bar loop.
- Ask for the master. Open Ask CoProducer and say where the song is going: "Master this song for streaming." CoProducer measures the full song first, finishes it across every section, then tells you what it delivered.
- Listen at both ends. Loop the loudest section, usually the last chorus, by dragging across the ruler, then loop the intro. A good master keeps both sounding like the same record.
- Compare before and after. Ctrl+Z steps back to the unmastered mix and Ctrl+Shift+Z brings the master back (Cmd on a Mac). Match the playback volume by ear before you decide; louder always sounds better at first.
- Export. Click your avatar at the bottom of the left sidebar, choose Export, pick WAV and Full mix, and press Export WAV. Details in export formats.

Mastering tips
- Leave the mix some headroom. If every section already hits the top of the meter, there's nothing left for the master to shape.
- Check on three systems. Earbuds, laptop speakers and a car are where most people will hear it.
- Master the final arrangement. Change the structure after mastering and ask for the master again, so the new section is finished like the rest.
- Keep the unmastered mix. Export a WAV before you master, too; it's free, and it's what you'd hand another engineer.
