AI Mastering

Veena Studio's AI Mastering is a browser-based mastering tool that analyzes your stereo mix and applies loudness optimization, EQ balancing, stereo enhancement, and limiting to prepare your track for release on streaming platforms. Unlike standalone mastering services that require you to upload a file and wait, Veena's AI masters your track directly inside the DAW where you can immediately compare the mastered result to the unmastered mix and adjust settings. It is free to start, runs in any web browser, and requires no downloads or music theory background.

How it works

1

Bounce or select your mix

Once your mix is finished, route it to the master bus or bounce it to a stereo track. The AI Mastering tool analyzes the full frequency spectrum, dynamics, and stereo image.

2

Apply AI mastering

Prompt the AI with "master this for Spotify" or "warm mastering with analog character." The AI applies EQ, compression, stereo widening, and a limiter calibrated to your target loudness.

3

Compare and export

Toggle between the mastered and unmastered version to hear the difference. Adjust any parameter, then export the final master in WAV, FLAC, or MP3 at the bitrate and sample rate you need.

How AI Mastering compares

Mastering services like LANDR, eMastered, and CloudBounce require you to export a stereo file from your DAW, upload it, wait for processing, download the result, and listen in a separate player. If something sounds off, you repeat the entire cycle. Veena's AI Mastering runs inside the DAW, so the feedback loop is instant — you hear the result immediately and can tweak parameters without re-uploading. It also means you can jump back to the mix, make a change, and re-master in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

What loudness standards does the AI Mastering support?+

Veena's AI Mastering can target loudness standards for Spotify (-14 LUFS), Apple Music (-16 LUFS), YouTube (-14 LUFS), and other platforms. You can also set a custom LUFS target.

Can I master individual stems instead of a full mix?+

The AI Mastering tool is designed for stereo mixes. For processing individual stems, use the AI Mixing Assistant, which operates on individual tracks with per-channel EQ, compression, and other processing.

Is AI mastering as good as a professional mastering engineer?+

For most independent releases, AI mastering produces results that are competitive with entry-level professional mastering. It handles loudness, tonal balance, and dynamics well. For high-budget commercial releases, a human mastering engineer may still offer a slight edge in artistic judgment.

What export formats does Veena support?+

You can export your mastered track as WAV (16-bit or 24-bit, up to 48kHz), FLAC, or MP3 (up to 320kbps). These formats cover the requirements of all major streaming platforms and distribution services.

Can I undo the mastering and go back to my mix?+

Yes. Mastering in Veena is non-destructive. You can bypass or remove the mastering chain at any time to return to your original mix, make changes, and re-master.
