Veena's free vocal remover lives inside an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Drop in your song and the vocals, drums, bass and everything else land on separate tracks, lined up in time. Most vocal removers end at a download button: two files, and you are on your own. Veena ends at a session. The instrumental is already on a timeline, next to a mixer, a microphone input and a producer who can build on what is left.

How to remove vocals from a song
- Open daw.veena.studio and sign in with Google. Nothing to install; it runs in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc or Firefox.
- Click Upload in the transport bar, or drag the file onto the timeline. WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS, FLAC, AIFF and CAF all import. Got a video? Import the MP4 or MOV and right-click it for Separate Audio.
- Press stop, right-click the clip and choose Separate into Stems. A "Separating…" badge sits on the clip while it works. A full song takes about 45 to 120 seconds.
- Four tracks appear under the original: vocals, drums, bass and other, each lined up with the source. Veena mutes the original clip rather than deleting it, so nothing is lost.
- Mute the vocals track. What plays is the instrumental. Prefer exactly two tracks? Type "isolate the vocals" to CoProducer and you get one named vocals and one named instrumental.
Make an instrumental you can use anywhere
Open the account menu in the sidebar and choose Export. Veena shows the file count, the names, the quality and the size before anything is written, then exports the mix as a 24-bit, 48 kHz WAV or a 320 kbps MP3. Mute the vocals first and the file is your instrumental; pick stems instead and every audible track arrives as its own file in a zip.
There is no cap on exports and no watermark on any of them, on the free plan or on Veena Pro. If the song came from a video, export an MP4 and the picture goes with it.
Make a karaoke version you can actually sing
A karaoke track is only useful in your key, at a tempo you can breathe to. After the split:
- Change the key. Ask CoProducer to "pitch the instrumental down two semitones" and it pitch-shifts the audio.
- Slow it down. Drag the right edge of the clip to stretch it; the pitch stays put.
- Loop the hard part. Drag across the ruler over the bridge and playback cycles there.
- Record yourself. Arm the microphone, set a one- or two-bar count-in and sing. Loop recording keeps your last complete pass, and Veena's Auto-Tune effect tunes the take to the key and scale you set.

Four stems, every time. Guitars, keys and synths come back together in "other". If you need a guitar line alone, mute the rest and ask CoProducer to write a new guitar part on its own track.

LALAL.AI says it "became the #1 vocal remover", yet its free Starter plan is a preview: 10 minutes of processing, and "downloading the full result isn't available on this plan" (LALAL.AI's home page and pricing page, September 2026). Each separation type returns two stems and is billed as "total file length x stem separation type(s) number", so a 5-minute song split three ways costs 15 minutes. Keeping a full result starts at Lite, $9.99 a month.
Moises caps free accounts at "5 uploads per month, with files up to 5 minutes long", deleting a file doesn't give the slot back, and free files are deleted after two months without a login (Moises help centre, September 2026). Its prices appear only once you log in.
Vocalremover.org is quick and hands back "two tracks - a karaoke version of your song (no vocals) and acapella version", while its own banner says the better model is "currently available for subscribers only" (vocalremover.org, September 2026). Two files, and nowhere to take them next.
Veena is the vocal remover where the split is the start of the song, not the end of the job.
After the vocal comes out
This is where the producer earns its place. Keep your vocal and change everything around it: "rebuild this as 90s R&B at the same tempo, with a round bass and Electric Piano chords".
