AI for Music Producers

Updated September 2026By Veena Studio

AI for music producers should start from your sound, not replace it. Veena is the free AI DAW with a personal music producer built in, and it opens with the tools you already trust: your own VST3 and AU plugins, from your own folders, in a browser tab. Then CoProducer builds with you, as real tracks you edit, mix and own.

Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser.

Your taste is the point. Veena takes away the friction between the idea and the finished record: the setup, the busywork, the blank session. The decisions stay yours.

AI for music producers starts with your plugins

Your chain took years. You know what your compressor does at 4:1 on your own voice and which reverb is part of your sound. An AI tool that can't load them asks you to write all that off. Veena doesn't.

  • Your VST3 plugins, and Audio Units on a Mac, run in Veena through Veena Bridge, a free helper you install once on Mac or Windows. Instruments play your MIDI clips; effects go on any track or the master.
  • Your own folders. Add the folder where your plugins already live, from either plugin picker, and Veena Bridge scans it. Every picker has a search.
  • Your presets, in your project. Each plugin's settings and state save with the song, and the plugin's own window opens natively on your computer.
  • CoProducer knows them. It reads what's installed, knows around 20 popular products by name, from Serum and Kontakt to the FabFilter Pro range, Valhalla and the CLA-76, and starts from a real preset instead of a blank patch.

How it all works, and every plugin feature, is on VST plugins in your browser.

A personal producer who builds real tracks

CoProducer is a producer in your session, not a generator in a different tab. Describe the song — genre, tempo, key, the parts — and it plans the arrangement, picks the sounds and writes the parts onto your timeline.

  • MIDI you can play with. Drums, bass, chords and melody land as MIDI clips you open in the piano roll, voice with your own instrument plugins and rewrite note by note.
  • Audio you can cut. Recorded and generated audio sits on its own tracks, ready to trim, stretch, pitch and process.
  • Three options per part. CoProducer offers three takes on every new part and waits for your pick before it writes anything that depends on it.
  • Plain words or your hands. "Make the hats busier in the second verse", or grab the notes yourself. One undo reverses any change CoProducer made.

It works around your ideas too: drop in a voice memo, a demo or a take recorded straight into Veena, and CoProducer builds the song around it. Read more on your AI music producer.

Stems in one click

Right-click any song on the timeline and choose Separate into Stems. Veena places vocals, drums, bass and everything else on four new tracks, lined up with the original and at its tempo, and mutes the original rather than deleting it. Rework the drums, keep the vocal, flip the bass into MIDI: the stem splitter is the first move of a session, not a folder of loose files.

Mixing and mastering on the real tracks

CoProducer mixes the tracks of your song, not a bounced stereo file. It sets levels and pan, then adds EQ, compression, reverb and delay track by track, weighing your own plugins against Veena's 10 built-in effects. Every move is a fader or a knob you can change, and "less reverb on the snare" is one sentence. When the balance is right, it masters the song to streaming loudness or to a reference track in the same session. See AI mixing.

Make it together, live

Real-time collaboration has been live in Veena since 12 September 2026. Invite a collaborator with an email-locked link, work in the same song at the same time, and each of you gets a private chat with CoProducer plus a shared one. Your plugins come too: the computer that owns a plugin renders it for the whole session, so your co-writer hears your Serum without owning it. Start at make music online together.

Export everything, own everything

  • Every format: 24-bit, 48 kHz WAV, 320 kbps MP3, MIDI and MP4, as the full mix or every track in a zip.
  • No cap, no watermark, on the free plan and on Veena Pro.
  • You own it. Veena's terms say you own the Output you generate.

Produce a 142 BPM dark trap beat in F minor with me: a sliding 808 on my Serum starting from a sub-bass preset, a sparse bell melody, hi-hats with triplet rolls, the snare on beat 3 and a Vox Pad under the hook. Lay it out as an 8-bar intro, 16-bar verse, 8-bar hook, 16-bar verse, 8-bar hook and 4-bar outro, then mix it with my own FabFilter Pro-Q on the melody and my Valhalla reverb on the pad.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI for music producers?

Veena. Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. It runs your own VST3 and AU plugins, splits stems and mixes the real tracks.

Can I use my own plugins with Veena's AI?

Yes. Install the free Veena Bridge helper on a Mac or Windows computer and your VST3 plugins, plus Audio Units on Mac, load in Veena, including plugins kept in your own folders. CoProducer reads what you have installed, knows around 20 popular products by name, such as Serum, Kontakt and the FabFilter Pro range, and starts from real presets.

Does Veena's AI make real tracks or a finished audio file?

Real tracks. CoProducer writes MIDI parts you can open in the piano roll and audio clips you can cut, stretch and process, each on its own track in your session. It offers three options for every new part, you pick, and one undo reverses any change it made. Nothing is a locked render.

Will AI replace my taste as a producer?

No, and Veena is built the other way round. Your taste is the point: you decide the sound, the arrangement and the mix, and CoProducer does the legwork of building parts, splitting stems and setting a first mix you then change. Every fader, knob and note stays yours to move, in Veena's timeline and mixer.

Do I own the music I make with Veena?

Yes. Veena's terms say you own the Output you generate, on the free plan and on Veena Pro. Export the full mix or every track as 24-bit, 48 kHz WAV, MP3, MIDI or MP4, as often as you like, with no cap and no watermark on any file, on every plan.

Is Veena free for producers?

Yes. Veena's free plan includes the whole studio, your own plugins, stem separation, live collaboration and a daily CoProducer allowance. Veena Pro, at $20 a month, removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models. Exports are never capped or watermarked, and nothing needs a graphics card, because the AI runs on Veena's servers.
